Dear Cherry Hill Subdivision Homeowner and Interested Non-Subdivision Resident,
Your Cherry Hill Swim Club will again open in May of 2007. After having the YMCA own and operate the swim club from 2000 to 2003 and then having it sit vacant in 2004 and 2005, the club was purchased and re-opened as a family membership facility for the families that live in the Cherry Hill Subdivision and for area families that live outside Cherry Hill but who wanted to join.
Unlike every other neighborhood swim club in Northern Kentucky, we do not require a bond to be purchased which could range from $500 to $1200 per family. A low cost annual membership fee is the only requirement to join. Due to the size of the pool and parking lot, we have limited total membership to 150 families. Membership dues levels are outlined within.
Having grown up at 683 Maple Tree Lane during the 60’s and 70’s, I, like the many who still live in Cherry Hill, experienced wonderful memories of endless summers swimming at our neighborhood pool. In many ways the pool was a focal point of community and fellowship for its many members. Adults met and socialized while kids participated in swim lessons, swim and dive teams, cub scouts, and girl scouts. It brought the entire community together while at the same time providing each of us with the ability to learn to swim. In many ways, when the club ceased being a family membership pool in 2000, a huge void in the community was created.
As the new owners, we commit to provide a safe, clean, enjoyable environment in which to swim and socialize. We commit to continue swim lessons again this coming season and to re-enter the Northern Kentucky Swim League for the 2007 season. We also commit to keep the membership obtainable by not requiring bonds and by keeping dues low. But we can’t do it alone!
We need your help so as to realize our vision of restoring Cherry Hill Swim Club to its former glory. All you need to do is to join. It is a very basic concept; If we are unable to sustain an adequate number of memberships, we will be unable to insure the club’s existence for decades to come. A viable active neighborhood swim club adds value to the subdivision and every home therein. We reached 50 family memberships in 2006. With the addition of numerous Triple E members, we estimate membership of 100 for 2007.
A 2007 Membership Registration form is available under the Membership tab of our website. Mail your registration and payment to Cherry Hill Swim Club, P.O. Box 17636, Covington, KY 41017-0676. No refunds will be made after opening day.
It is important to fill in ALL information on the registration form and mail it along with your dues check. Passes will not be issued without an age: (if over 21 indicate your age as “A” which represents adult).
Your membership cards will be available at the pool on opening day. Our pool hours will be 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. every day except Friday and Saturday when it will remain open until 10:00 p.m. Anyone interested in copies of the pool rules and by-laws can obtain a copy of them from the pool office or via our website. We again plan to remain open during most of September, albeit limited hours and weather permitting.
So fill out your registration today and send it in. Also feel free to visit our website at www.cherryhillswimclub.com. We look forward to seeing each of you as we enter a new era in the life of the now 46 year old Cherry Hill Swim Club.
Sincerely,
Brian & Vicky Collins
